At first your eyes are wide - wide at the chaos exiting the airport, wide at the hectic traffic on the road, and even wider as you try to best absorb this new world you've walked into. You wonder how you might be able to fit in and break your American lens to truly be present. However, the surprising thing about it all in the end is just how quickly everything becomes normal to you.
Just your typical stroll around a sunflower field in the early morning fog.
Over the past few weeks my dad, siblings, and I worked to conjure up a perfect surprise 60th birthday plan for my mom.
Directing models on the edge of a cliff was definitely a new experience for me. It was challenging - not only shooting with harsh noon sunlight - but making a connection with the subjects + shooting them in such a short amount of time.
The truth is original. The truth is original. This is a mantra I have picked up recently to remind myself of what I love most about photography - capturing real moments and genuine emotion.
I landed in Cuba with few expectations - life had been busy and I had done minimal planning compared to my usual exhaustive research.
This duo is a force to be reckoned with. Always thankful to these beautiful gals for letting me photograph them all over Richmond and being up for all my quirky angles + random ideas. Glad we were able to keep this one a surprise for a killer holiday present for their mom. Cheers you two!
Having a photoshoot in the early morning hours on the National Mall with a cute-as-can-be kid named Wesley is definitely reason to be thankful this season. I had a blast photographing the Yeager family and capturing Wes' bright blue eyes & joyful smile. It didn't hurt that we lucked out with warm weather on a sunny morning before a cold front rolled in!
Nothing beats camping on a chilly autumn night bundled in blankets with a fire roaring, stars shining, and 'mallows roasting.
I can't believe Sage is already a senior in high school (time, man, it flies).
If you're worried about rain on your wedding day - don't be. Rainy weddings are absolutely beautiful (and might be my new favorite).
Spain is such a beautiful country with so many different cities, pueblos, sites and cultures - it's hard to decide where exactly to go when planning a trip to Spain. If you wanted to see the whole country, your trip could easily take 3-4 weeks. However, knowing that August is a big vacation-to-Spanish-beaches month for many Europeans, we planned to go the opposite direction up to the NW region for 11 days.
Music festivals and donuts. The things I always associate with these two.
July 23, 2016 was definitely one of the hottest and most humid days of the summer thus far. However, no amount of heat or humidity could stifle the love and happiness that was radiating throughout Teresa & Stuart's harmonious wedding day.
Through the rain, snow, and brief sunshine, Nicole and Dave's wedding was absolutely beautiful at The Inn at Willow Grove. I had a lovely time capturing this special day with the wonderful James Ton Photography. The details of their wedding were some of my favorites, especially the plethora of succulents and mini desserts!
A mix between perfect early morning light, a lovely summer day, and a beautiful model. I had so much fun testing out new lenses and playing with the sunlight peaking through the trees during this shoot. There is such a light, airy, effortless feel to these photographs, and it is without a doubt one of my favorite shoots thus far.
There is something about sipping on orange crushes, sailing the bay, and laughing with good company on such a radiant day that makes my heart so happy.
Recently I had the pleasure of second shooting Nadia and Peter's wedding with the gracious and talented James Ton Photography. The wedding was beautiful and a perfect blend of her Egyptian traditions mixed with his Italian culture. Any wedding that incorporates belly dancing and plates full of cannolis is bound to be a hit!
So happy I was able to be a part of their special day, and wish them a lifetime of love and adventure together!
June 26, 2015 was such a memorable day in history for America, and I was beyond ecstatic to be in the crowd at the Supreme Court that day witnessing the change.
I had a blast photographing Mera's bridal shower held at the stunning Jefferson Hotel in Washington, DC over the weekend. Everything was perfectly planned by her sisters from the gorgeous flowers, delicious naked cake, and all the little details in between - including adorable body scrub favors!
City of a hundred spires, as it is know, Prague is an exciting city with interesting architecture and amazing views around every corner.
Beautiful, beautiful Budapest. We immediately fell in love with Budapest...
My lovely friend Mehak and I recently traveled to Eastern Europe to explore Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest & Prague. We were visiting a pal of mine, Annie, who has been living in Bratislava for the past year. It was such a great time visiting and catching up with Annie, while exploring and experiencing Eastern Europe as well. All of these cities were unique and had their own distinct vibes, that it made it hard for us to pick which one we enjoyed the most. Each place was beautiful and we enjoyed seeing the historical sites as well as wandering the streets (sometimes getting lost in those streets), drinking good wine, and eating amazing food.
